He was a frequent flyer at Moon's Meats and Deli where you could always catch him on Fridays having a bowl of clam chowder and a sandwich with his grandson Jonathan. He cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending untold hours enjoying their participation in school and sports activities. Here he was able to see and be with his family and friends he had grown to miss being away. He missed his family and friends and moved back to King City. In 2007 Bob moved to Colorado Springs where he looked forward to being closer to his son Richard and his family.

He was a member of several community organizations, The King City Moose Lodge, one of the organizations instrumental in forming the first King City Recreational Program for youth in King City, The King City Archery Club, and the Family Jeepers Club for families enjoying 4 wheeling together, The Sportsman's Club, Naked in the Woods and Silver Kings' and Queens.īob enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, woodworking, crossword puzzles, traveling and watching NCIS. He respected people for who they were and he was respected by those who knew and worked with him.īob was an avid reader. When he shook on it, that was as good as any contract you could write. He was a soft spoken man of few words and his hand shake was as good as gold. He continued for several years working part-time as a Contract Engineer for Basic. He retired after 21 years with the company. Bob had several jobs working for the Foremost Milk Company, B &B Truck Stop, The Reel Joy Theatre as a projectionist, a Police Officer for King City Police Department and eventually worked at Basic Vegetable Products where he started as a Crew Leader soon promoted to Foreman and eventually became an Engineer. Bob served in the US Army 1949 to 1951.Īfter his mother's passing, he moved to King City, where he met and married Phyllis Perez. He lived in Los Angeles and worked on the docks in Long Beach. He and his family lived in Oklahoma for several years before moving to California in the mid 1930's. Robert "Bob" Gene Eddington, 84 of King City passed away Wednesday, Januat Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital with his family at his side.īob was born Novemin Winfield, Kansas to Arthur and Alice Eddington.
